Content Sharing of IWA World Water Congress in Copenhagen(Ⅹ)
The 10th webinar in a series for Content Sharing from the 2022 IWA World Water Congress in Copenhagen was held on December 15, 2022. The webinar series is jointly hosted by the International Forum of Water Sustainability (IFWS) and Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT). Prof. Min Yang, IWA Distinguished Fellow, Research Center for Eco-Environment Sciences of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Prof. Aijie Wang, IWA Distinguished Fellow, Harbin Institute of Technology, were invited to hold a discussion with the Chinese attendees of the webinar. This webinar was moderated by Prof. Rong Chen, School of Environmental and Municipal Engineering, XAUAT. Also, over 9000 researchers, technologists, and students joined the webinar.
Prof. Rong Chen first extended a warm welcome to all the experts participating in the webinar. He also explained that the webinar will share the Closing Ceremony of the IWA Copenhagen World Water Congress, and the dialogue between YWP and Fellows will be held in the webinar
Afterwards, Prof. Xiaochang Wang introduced the Closing Ceremony of the IWA Copenhagen World Water Congress, and shared the video of the Closing Ceremony. The Closing Ceremony was chaired by Mr Kizito Masinde, Director of IWA Global Events and Awards. Ms. Helle Katrine Andersen, Chair IWA Pogramme Committee and Host Country Committee, DANVA delivered address and introduced the Program Committee and Organizing Committee. Prof. Wolfgang Rauch, Heidelberg University gave brief presentation of Prof. Poul Harremoes, a globally renowned water scientist and engineer. Besides, the Best Poster Awards were announced and the IWA Climate Smart Utilities Recognition Program led by Xylem was introduced in the closing ceremony. Mr. Bouake Fofana, Minister of Ivory Coast, Host of 2023 African Water Conference, Mr. Tom Mollenkopf, IWA President, Anders Bækgaard, Congress President delivered addresses respectively. Mr. Peter Vanrolleghem, President of IWA Toronto World Water Congress 2024 gave speech after the congress turning-over ceremony. In the end, Mr Kala Vairavamoorthy, IWA Executive Director declared the closing of IWA Copenhagen World Water Congress.
Prof. Xiaochang Wang, Prof. Min Yang, Prof. Aijie Wang, Prof. Rong Chen, and the fellows from IWA China Young Water Professionals (YWP) including Dr. Xiaoyuan Zhang, Prof. Qian Li, Dr. Lu Huijie joined the discussion to express their perspectives on the development of youth in water industry.
