Prof. Kala Vairavamoorthy as the IWA Executive Director Visit XAUAT and delivers invited lecture

On June 28, Prof. Kala Vairavamoorthy, the Executive Director of International Water Association (IWA) visited Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology (XAUAT). During the Meeting with Mr. Xiaowei Zhu, the president of XAUAT, Prof. Kala signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of IWA CoF Research Centre (Xi’an). The nameplate unveiling ceremony was held and the certificate of Honorary Professor was awarded to Prof. Kala on the meeting.

In September this year, China Water Environment Group Lake Erhai project won the 2022 International Water Association (IWA) Project Innovation Award (PIA) in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

IWA Journal Water Reuse Publishes an Invited Feature Article by Prof. Xiaochang C. Wang

Invited by the Editor in Chief of Water Reuse (IWA Publishing), Professor Xiaochang C. Wang, CTO of IFWS, has published a feature article titled “Safe water reuse through a quasi-natural water cycle” which presented his viewpoint on creating a quasi-natural water cycle for water reuse. Using existing data collected by his research group, he displayed the remarkable effects of emerging pollutants removal and associated reduction of biotoxicities from the reclaimed water during open-storage under a quasi-natural condition and revealed the related mechanisms. System design with integration of engineered and natural elements is recommended an effective manner for safeguarding water quality.
